If you learn to play an instrument, wouldn't it be nice to hear pieces that are written originally for that instrument? And played by the world's best players on top of that! And you don't even have to buy cds anymore! You can download it or just watch some Youtube videos for free.
I said in a previous post that you should listen to other kind of music sometimes. That's assuming that you do take time to develop some knowledge about your own instrument in both solo and orchestral repertoire. It's important to know as much as you can about your instrument and that includes that instrument's repertoire. The good news is: It's fun! So go to Youtube right now and please yourself with some nice horn or brass music. You'll love it!
